How the scoring system works

This scoring system is ridiculous, but it’s fun! I’m sure this will evolve over time but for now this is how I’ve decided to ‘score’ cameras and lenses.

Results: To what degree is the camera capable of delivering outstanding images?

Reliability: How reliable is the camera? Can you trust it to take good pictures? How easy is it to operate the camera?

Versatility: Is the camera good in a variety of settings? Are accessories available to allow the camera to be used in different ways? How many quality lenses or cameras is the item compatible with?

Prestige: How historical or iconic is the equipment?

Novelty: How unusual is the item? Does it perform any ‘party tricks’?

Fun: Is the equipment fun to use or does it seem to be a chore to record images with?

Each of the categories above is scored on a scale of one to ten. I sum these up for a ‘total’ though this is a little silly as it’s likely hard to score high in both prestige and novelty for example. Who cares, lets have fun!

Location in the Camera Case: Of the five shelves on my (hypothetical) camera shelf, where does this item sit? My favorite gear on the first (top) shelf and my less favored gear on the lower shelves.
